Buying Guide
- What to prioritize: Look for 360-degree zippers, fully encasing designs, and a true waterproof barrier (polyurethane backing or inner lining) to prevent spills from reaching the mattress.
- Fabric feel vs. protection: Soft, quiet fabrics reduce sleep disturbance. Knit polyester and bamboo blends offer breathability and comfort alongside protection.
- Mattress size compatibility: Confirm pocket depth (typical 10–15 inches) and actual mattress dimensions before purchase to ensure a snug fit.
- Allergen and bed-bug protection: Six-sided encasements provide better coverage than top-only protectors, reducing exposure to dust mites and pests.
- Maintenance: Most protectors are machine washable. Check care instructions for washing cycles and drying cautions to preserve the zipper and fabric.
- Noise level: If you sleep hot or are sensitive to crinkles, choose noisiest-free, noiseless fabrics designed to avoid crinkling sounds during movement.
